Beacon on Brook
Walk-In Support Center

Located Behind the Shelter at 15 Brook Street Manchester

Beacon on Brook Walk-in Support Center is a safe, welcoming and non-judgmental space for women who struggle with homelessness, substance use, abuse, and/or may have experienced sex trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation.

At the center, we offer a private shower and a washer /dryer to do a load of laundry. We also offer coffee, cold drinks and snacks as well as gift bags filled with personal care items. Women who visit can enjoy a peaceful break, rest or even watch a movie or get creative with our many art supplies.

Many of the women we see are struggling with life controlling issues and have had their trust violated. Our trained staff and volunteers work to build rapport with a trauma-informed approach. We offer assistance in connecting to existing support services and resources as well as Light of Life program referrals; The Light House or Beacon on Brook Street Shelter.

We also offer evening support classes and biblical studies such as the one below. If you are interested in Out of Darkness, please call 603-232-1107 X2 to speak with Kristie McKenney about when the next class will be offered.

Out of Darkness

This Bible study, written by our CEO, Kristie McKenney, walks participants through the different struggles that many women who have been sexually abused and exploited deal with: shame, distrust, body image, powerlessness and more. In a safe, supportive small group, women can discover what Jesus has to say about all of these things and the incredible impact that can have on your healing and your life.
