Through housing, recovery support, mentorship, outreach and practical assistance, we walk alongside women as they rebuild their lives physically, emotionally and spiritually.

Volunteer Philosophy

Volunteers are an essential part of the mission of Light of Life Ministries. Whether serving through mentorship, outreach, prayer, teaching, hospitality or practical support, each volunteer plays a unique role in bringing hope and healing to women and children in our community.

Not every volunteer serves in the same way — but every volunteer matters.

Volunteer Opportunities Overview

Life Mentor Volunteers

Mission of This Role

Life Mentors walk alongside women in The Light House through supportive, Christ-centered relationships that encourage healing, stability, growth and independence.

General Description

The volunteer Life Mentor’s role is to walk alongside their resident with the love of Christ. The key responsibility of the Life Mentor is to help ensure the woman they are assigned to is given the opportunity and support to stabilize, transform and flourish through this unique relationship.

Key Responsibilities

·       Develop a mutually agreed upon plan for meetings and activities

·       Facilitate regular contact with assigned resident(s)

·       Collaborate with case management team members

·       Assist with parenting support and guidance

·       Participate in supervision and collaboration meetings

·       Maintain confidentiality and healthy boundaries

·       Be a positive and Christ-centered role model

Prayer Outreach Volunteers

Mission of This Role

Prayer Outreach Volunteers go into local parks and community spaces to meet women where they are with the love of Christ through prayer, encouragement and Gospel-centered outreach.

Key Responsibilities

·       Share the Gospel of Jesus Christ

·       Offer Gospel-centered prayer

·       Build authentic relationships

·       Engage in meaningful conversations

·       Support deeper healing and encouragement

·       Help identify potential intake opportunities into The Light House

Mobile Boutique Volunteers

General Description

Mobile Boutique Volunteers help provide dignity, practical support and meaningful community engagement through Light of Life Ministries’ mobile boutique and outreach events.

·       Sort and organize donations

·       Assist with setup and breakdown at events

·       Help guests shop and access items

·       Work at outreach and community events

·       Maintain organization and cleanliness

Light House Program Volunteers

·       Teaching enrichment classes

·       Meal preparation and hospitality

·       Childcare assistance

·       Transportation support

·       Bible studies and devotional support

·       Administrative and fundraising event support
